Frequently asked questions
What am I paying for?
For active credentials — valid authorisations that have not expired and have not been revoked. Issuance is included, verification is unlimited and free. Revoked or expired credentials are no longer charged from the following month.
Does our organisation need its own swiyu registration?
No. Provara operates the issuer identity (DID) and the status registry on the swiyu trust infrastructure on your behalf. Your organisation does not need to register a business entity ID or run its own infrastructure.
Are the issued credentials reliably verifiable?
These are cryptographically signed SD-JWT VC with an IETF-compliant Token Status List, verifiable in the government swiyu wallet. Verification always checks signature and status — even during the 30-day trial period.
What happens on cancellation or downgrade?
Verification of already issued credentials remains available at all times — existing trust is not interrupted. In the event of late payment, only new issuance is suspended at first.
How are large numbers of short-lived credentials billed?
For credentials with a validity of less than 30 days, the burst package bills per issuance rather than per active credential. This fairly reflects inventories that change daily — such as construction site access.
Where is the data stored?
Exclusively in Switzerland. Provara complies with the revised Data Protection Act (revDSG/nFADP) and uses tenant isolation (Postgres RLS), field encryption and a tamper-proof, hash-chained audit log.
